The Need

For over 25 years IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade IJMs Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85 for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence we are seeking a Senior Director of Digital

As IJM expands its mission to rescue 1 million people and protect over 300 million from violence we are seeking a visionary and strategic Senior Director of Digital to architect the future of our global digital engagement. This senior leader will unify our digital systems marketing automation and CRM strategies into a cohesive engine for growth engagement and impact.

This role is responsible for advancing a global digital marketing ecosystem that integrates Salesforce (and other key marketing technologies) to deliver intelligent personalized journeys for all donor segmentsmass midlevel major and principal. From acquisition to longterm stewardship this leader will own the strategy infrastructure and necessary to drive supporter engagement and optimize experiences across platforms.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington DC area or remote for nonlocal candidates. It reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Digital Marketing Strategy & Channel Optimization

  • Lead the vision performance strategy and across IJMs core digital marketing channelsincluding website SEO SEM paid media email and socialto drive engagement and conversion across supporter segments.

  • Oversee integrated digital campaigns that span paid owned and earned media channels ensuring a cohesive user experience and brand consistency.

  • Set goals for digital engagement and revenue growth implementing datadriven strategies to increase acquisition retention and lifetime value.

  • Champion creative and content strategies aligned to audience insights and platformspecific best practices.

MarTech Strategy & Marketing Automation

  • Design and evolve the global marketing technology stackincluding Salesforce CRM Marketing Cloud journey builders and analytics platformsto support automation targeting and personalization at scale.

  • Align marketing automation capabilities with supporter journeys enabling responsive timely and personalized experiences for mass midlevel and major donors.

  • Ensure platform integrations e.g. web analytics CRM CDP) support robust data flows and performance tracking across all digital touchpoints.

  • Serve as a strategic connector between marketing and IT helping guide enterprise decisions on infrastructure data systems and vendor relationships.

Donor Journey Mapping & Lifecycle Marketing

  • Develop fullfunnel multichannel donor journeys that align to segmentspecific behaviors motivations and moments of engagement.

  • Partner with fundraising communications and regional teams to map journey touchpoints conversion paths and lifecycle messaging strategies.

  • Use A/B testing dynamic content and behavioral data to optimize journeys for acquisition reactivation and longterm donor retention.

Digital Innovation & Performance Insights

  • Introduce and test emerging digital tools such as personalization engines chatbots AI/MLdriven optimization and dynamic content delivery to enhance the supporter experience.

  • Lead the development of dashboards and reporting frameworks that track digital campaign performance channel ROI and audience engagement across platforms.

  • Foster a culture of innovation performance analysis and experimentation to continuously improve digital impact.

Team Leadership & Global Collaboration

  • Build and lead a highperforming digital marketing team with expertise across channels content analytics and automation.

  • Provide strategic support and alignment to global regions empowering local within a unified digital strategy.

  • Oversee strategic partnerships with digital agencies creative vendors and tech platforms to drive innovation scale and costefficiency.

  • Serve as a trusted partner across fundraising advocacy and communications teams to align digital with enterpriselevel growth and engagement goals.

Education & Experience

  • 1215 years of experience in digital marketing with significant leadership in martech CRM systems and donor/customer journey design.

  • Deep expertise with Salesforce ecosystem (Marketing Cloud CRM Journey Builder) marketing automation platforms and customer data infrastructure.

  • Proven success leading highimpact marketing technology strategies across multitiered audience segments.

  • Strong understanding of donor and customer behavior segmentation lifecycle marketing and multichannel optimization.

  • Experience managing technical and creative teams and working crossfunctionally across enterprise organizations.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with a focus on process improvement.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear concise and professional materials.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Google Workspace and virtual collaboration platforms (e.g. Teams Zoom Slack).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a facedpaced environment

NonTechnical Competencies

  • Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles Creed;

  • Strong ethic of service and a passion for IJM.

  • Collaborative and serviceoriented mindset.
