Required:
- Bachelors degree in business social services or related field or equivalent experience of five 5 years or more in a supervisory role.
- Five 5 years of experience in employee hiring evaluation employee conduct and progressive discipline.
- Five 5 years of experience working effectively with people mediating disputes solving problems and updating and improving processes.
Desired:
- Experience in developing and providing professional development.
- SHRM Certification.
Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of school employment laws and practices employee bargaining agreements and contract interpretation and employee relations procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products.
- Selfdirected highly motivated willing to learn and highly organized.
- Able to represent the district positively in a variety of settings.
- Effective communication skills both oral and written.
- Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Collaborate with school and department administrators/supervisors to develop implement and monitor performance of staff and school environments that ensure positive outcomes for students. Lead efforts in staff performance through aligned processes procedures and training. Provides leadership for all aspects of talent and personnel for district staff as well as compliance of district policies procedures and guidelines. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as leader in recruiting screening interviewing and recommending candidates for hire to ensure students are successful in achieving learning outcomes.
- Serve as leader in retaining high quality staff to foster a school and department culture and climate that supports both students and staff success.
- Assist with developing and maintaining onboarding procedures processes and guidelines for candidates/staff to ensure a high level of communication and customer service.
- Ensure required certifications and/or licensure for current and newly hired staff. Communicate and collaborate with the Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) with questions waiver requests and complaint process.
- Support fiveyear background check process for all employees as scheduled. Followup with appropriate data documentation and employee conduct concerns as required.
- Regularly collaborate with schools and departments in order to provide exemplar customer services to supervisors in the organization. Areas of collaboration include evaluation procedures employee conduct issues staffing plans (including vacancies and hiring) employee attendance employee retention complaint and grievance process and other department specific talent and personnel functions.
- Develop training and provide professional development on talent and personnel related functions policies and procedures not limited to new hire onboarding employee conduct harassment complaint process background checks board policies grievance process reasonable suspicion and evaluations/performance improvement plans.
- Develop communicate and implement standard operating procedures for recruiting onboarding transfers employee conduct concerns progressive discipline and other department specific functions.
- Attend AFSCME and DMEA Labor Management Committee Meetings as needed.
- Research analyze develop and implement designated tasks/projects not limited to job descriptions SOPs (hiring evaluation discipline onboarding etc. job fairs transfer process.
- Supervise and evaluate executive assistant(s) assigned to team.
- Model exemplary work ethic and maintain high standards for all staff performance.
- Set personal performance goals with supervisor and work towards continuous learning; monitor goals and objectives to ensure completion by target date; report progress quarterly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Frequent standing walking sitting phone usage and computer usage. Occasional bending/stooping reaching/pushing/pulling climbing/stairs driving lifting(10 lbs. and carrying 20 feet).
WORKING CONDITIONS:Constantly indoors with occasional outside working conditions. Occasional extremes of temperature/humidity.
