Job Description
The Team
The Freeths Infrastructure and Major Projects Team advise clients at all stages of the project lifecycle from inception to completion and on operational matters in a diverse range of sectors including Regeneration Infrastructure Transport Warehousing & Logistics Education Healthcare Leisure Clean Energy Waste & Sustainability. The Team has advised on some of the largest and most complex transactions to come to the market with extensive experience acting for:
- Combined authorities and local authorities
- Universities and Colleges
- NHS Bodies
- Other public bodies
- Equity investors
- Developers
- Contractors
Over recent years this Team has become a major national player which has seen them win a range of impressive projects and major clients. Fuelling this is a focus on technology and investment in order to service the highquality work coming through.
The role
Following a series of impressive new client wins the Team are in growth mode and are looking to recruit at Associate to Managing Associate level. Given our national spread and flexible approach to working this role could be based out of any of our 13 offices in England and Scotland. We are keen to secure someone keen to capitalise on the chance to progress quickly in an environment where you will be able to gain exposure to high quality work and clients from day one. This position would suit an ambitious Projects and Infrastructure lawyer from a wellregarded National or City practice with experience of a broad range of domestic and international projects. There would ideally be synergies with the Teams current practice providing a 360o service when it comes to development and transactional project management. The clean energy and transport sectors are a key feature of the practice with a wider client roster made up of global manufacturers and retailers major national and regional builders and commercial land developers are regular clients.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and growth of the department and play a key role in business development initiatives. You will have experience of:
- PFI/PPP contract management (variations refinancing asset management expiry and hand back)
- PFI/PPP secondary market transactions
- Infrastructure M&A
- Advising on commercial contracts across the broader infrastructure sector
- Advising on projects and transactions within the renewables/net zero sector (for example solar wind battery storage energy from waste EV bioenergy offshore transmission district heating)
