Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital is seeking a patient focused Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our driven Neurosurgery team. We provide specialized and evidencebased approaches to diagnosing and treating pediatric conditions involving the brain and nervous system. Our team is dedicated to evaluating and treating infants children and teens. If you have a desire to be challenged clinically a passion for safety have excellent diagnostic skills and a passion to work with medically complex children this position is for you.
Essential Functions:
Evaluate screen and counsel patients on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources
Perform bedside procedures

Shift/ Days/ Hours:Specific hours to be determined upon hire
8 hour clinic shifts
12 and 24hour inpatient shifts
Required Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner:
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Minimum of two years of inpatient pediatric clinical nursing experience; at least 1 year experience with pediatric neurosurgery patients.
Physician Assistant
Required Masters Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
LICPhysician Assistant STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRTPhysician Asst Certified (PAC) NCCPA National Commission on
Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required
Both NP & PA:
CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required
CRTPediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
CRTAdv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
Desired Qualifications
Current specialty certification to practice as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNPAC) with one or more years of Acute Care PNP experience
Three or more years clinical nursing experience with the inpatient/acutely ill pediatric neurosurgery population
RNFA certification for OR participation
Demonstrated excellent patient service written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated continuous professional development activities/research.
