QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or higher in environmental science /engineering or other related field required.
  • 15 years minimum relevant experience in refining and petrochemical industry.
  • Proven record of selling and delivering projects/programs in the LNG sector.
  • Demonstrate considerable understanding of the environmental regulatory landscape.
  • Experience working with FERC is required.
  • Excellent client interfacing and relationship skills.

Were bridging two worlds moving towards more sustainable energy sources while helping to provide the energy chemicals and resources needed now.

We are seeking a Director of Environmental Permitting with deep expertise in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector for our Houston office (hybrid position 3 days/week in office). This position plays a pivotal role in leading and managing environmental permitting strategies for LNG projects (and other energy projects) ensuring compliance with all local state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background regulatory knowledge managing complex permitting processes from development through operations and a proven track record of selling/doing.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and of environmental permitting strategies for LNG projects across all project phases (FEED EPC commissioning operations).
  • Manage the preparation and submission of major environmental permits and approvals including (but not limited to) FERC filings NEPA documentation air and water permits and coastal zone consistency.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies including FERC USACE EPA DOE and state/local agencies.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to project teams on environmental risks and mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate environmental studies baseline assessments and impact analyses in support of permitting.
  • Work directly with our sales organization to seek new opportunities providing solutions to our customers for their energy chemicals and resources projects.
  • Oversee thirdparty environmental consultants and ensure deliverables meet technical and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the local team of environmental staff in Houston comprised of staff across multiple environmental service lines including sciences social and stakeholder engagement water liability management and geotechnical. Mentor team members and help build internal expertise.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and emerging environmental policies relevant to LNG operations and permitting.
  • Strong understanding and application of business drivers financial reporting standards and customer contract.
  • Provide stewardship and oversight of project delivery excellence and delivery of projects within the financial as sold target.
  • Promote a safe working environment and culture with the team in line with Worleys Health and Safety standard and Safety Advisors.
  • Build effective relationships with other managers client relationship leads directors and other key personnel.
