Position Description:
- The Itinerant Teacher of Gifted/Talented is responsible for providing gifted or talented services to qualifying students per the students IEP.
Scope of Responsibility:
- Develops an appropriate curriculum in order to meet the needs of each G/T student as dictated by the IEP.
- Completes accurately and on time all IEPs progress reports service logs and any other required documentation.
- Writes/facilitates IEPs for G/T students.
- Creates an aesthetic environment in which students can develop their individual talents. When applicable provides opportunities for students to demonstrate their talents to appropriate audiences.
- Participates in annual exhibits/performances sponsored by the G/T department.
- Screens students for possible G/T eligibility.
- Ability to travel to multiple school sites.
- Attends all required professional developments.
- Utilizes the highquality curriculum that is being implemented by the district as applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Gifted/Talented ESY Assistive Technology Coordinator.
Skills and Qualifications:

Successful candidates will also demonstrate:
- Bachelors degree and a valid Louisiana teaching certificate or Ancillary certification in gifted talent music visual arts or drama.
- Masters degree (gifted teachers).
- Proficient in Excel Word Power Point and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of the Individualized Education Process.
- Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills with an ability to use data to make decisions and recommendations.
Desirable Qualifications:
Physical Involvement:
- Must be able to operate office equipment.
- Standing walking reaching bending and lifting up to 10 pounds is required.
