About Zeeland Hospital:
Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital is a 55bed notforprofit organization located in West Michigan that serves the Greater Hudsonville Holland and Zeeland communities. Providing healthcare for over 90 years it was ranked a top performer by Vizient in 2023.
About the Unit:
The Pharmacy Department provides pharmacy services for Inpatients ED Surgery and the Infusion Center at Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital.
Scope of Work:
The Pharmacy Intern under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist processes prepares and delivers medications and supplies working with multiple medication automation systems. The Pharmacy Technician works in complex pharmacy areas including Sterile Product Compounding Controlled Substance Handling and Inventory Management.

- Prepares supplies / medication including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Associates Degree
- Hospital experience Preferred
- LICPharmacist Intern STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
- LICPharmacy Technician Temp STATEMI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required And
- LICPharmacy Technician STATEMI State of Michigan 90 Days required
- CRTPharmacy Technician Certified (CPHT) PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes LIC Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or
- CRTExam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes LIC Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
- Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and/or PTCB Certification
- Inpatient Pharmacy experience would be a plus
