Job Description
Preschool and PreK Teacher Assistant
Qualifications
Minimum of 12years experience in a school setting Preschool Elementary GSRP or Head Start classroom is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills and responsibilities may include the following:
1. Assist lead teacher in the application of any noninstructional duties Preschool and PreKindergarten Standards of Quality as well as developmentally appropriate practices.
2. Assist lead teachers in family partnership through effective communication skills.
3. Engage and assist in small and large group activities.
4. Assist in the physical environment to meet the needs of all the children.
5. Assist teaching teams to create meaningful program improvement goals and objectives.
6. Demonstrate positive rolemodel teacher practices.
7. Comply with district mission statement and purpose State of Michigan Licensing Guidelines and Great Start to Quality Goals and Outcomes 24 hours of continued onsite professional development required.
Individuals in this position are expected to be available during the academic school calendar year during instruction days except on holidays and school closures.
