Qualifications Preferred:
1. Current First Aid/CPR cards.
2. Demonstrated teaching ability in Family & Consumer Science focusing on consumer education nutrition fiber arts interior design and child development.
3. Teaching techniques which reflect interactive studentcentered topic driven instruction and incorporate communicative activities and authentic materials.
4. Evidence of training or experience in using technology and real world applications to enhance teaching and learning.
5. Training or experience in the development of integrated curriculum.
6. Demonstrated ability to use/learn computer technology for word processing Excel Access and PowerPoint electronic grading and attendance communication by email and ability to implement computer skills into daily classroom instruction.
7. Awareness of current changes in education (i.e. education reform).
8. Ability to motivate and instruct students of all ability levels with emphasis on providing for their individual learning styles.
9. Demonstrated success or training in providing leadership and guidance to the youth leadership requirements of the program (FCCLA).
10. Demonstrated success in maintaining a positive productive learning climate in the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Teach a variety of Family and Consumer Education courses; Interior Design Fiber Arts Child Development and Career & Consumer Connections.
2. Work with the appropriate advisory committee; attend meetings and implement advisory committee recommendations.
3. Work cooperatively with other F&CS staff to align program competencies and expectations with district approved program standards.
4. Provide opportunities for all students to participate in student leadership activities (FCCLA).
5. Maintain open communication with parents students staff and administration.
6. Believe cultural diversity is a strength and have the attitude that we will meet the needs of any child who enters our school.
7. Participate in the development of an integrated curriculum and its implementation into instruction.
8. Incorporate technology into the instructional process.
9. Become involved with business and community partnerships to enhance student learning and service opportunities.
10. Be a team player by establishing and maintaining cooperative professional relationships with others.
11. Be innovative and committed to the challenge of change in education.
12. Be committed to success for all children.
13. Be flexible and cooperative in schedule changes and accommodating in their needs for use of facility.
14. Participate in building wide programs including teaching technology violence prevention multicultural education and study and social skills.
15. Implement the requirements of IDEA Section 504 and ADA in the education of students with disabilities.

Lifting:The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs; must also be able to lift overhead. The employee may be required to physically move quickly in an emergency or while performing student supervision duties.

Physical Hazards:While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to work outdoors in a wide variety of temperatures; from 10 degrees F to 100 degrees F . The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.

Application Procedure: InDistrict staffmust complete an internal online application by10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date.Inbuilding/Indistrict staff will have eight school days or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practices procedures and initiatives specific to the position to which they are applying. After eight days if an inbuilding employee is qualified for the position the principal will offer the employee the position. In the case that more than one inbuilding employee is interested in a position the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee. If a position is not filled inbuilding after the eightday period the position will be offered to the qualified most senior indistrict applicant if any. Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
