Job Description: Hinds Community College is seeking a qualified and motivated Secondary Welding Instructor to join our Career and Technical Education team. The instructor will deliver highquality instruction in welding processes and techniques to high school students enrolled in dual credit/dual enrollment courses preparing them for successful careers and industry certification in welding and fabrication.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or higher in Welding Technology or a closely related field OR
Industry certifications.
A minimum of 3 years of recent welding experience in the field.
Ability to obtain or hold a valid Mississippi Educator License with a CTE endorsement in Welding.
NCCER certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Previous teaching or training experience in welding or industrial technology.
OSHA 10/30 certification.
Experience working with high schoolaged students in a career pathway or dual enrollment setting.
Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage high school students and maintain a professional environment.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand walk sit taste and smell. The employee is frequently required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
