Job Description

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Who Were Looking For:

We are looking for a Staff Accountantwho will be responsible for an array of accounting and administrative duties including assisting with monthend closing procedures daytoday transactional processing financial report preparation and budget support duties. Job Summary:

Reporting to the Controller the Staff Accountant will manage accounts payable/receivable generate financial statements and support budgeting and reporting processes. This is a role that requires extreme attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • AP & AR You will manage weekly AP and AR processes (including: new vendor setup and W9 maintenance invoice and employee expense report reviews/approval/generation reconcile commercial credit card accounts 1099 reporting prepare bank deposits AR collections etc.
  • FINANCIALS You will support the Controller throughout the monthend closing procedures resulting in the issuance of accurate financial statements. You will work across many teams to ensure inputs are accurately received and processed in a timely manner. You will be responsible for preparing and posting monthly journal entries for payroll credit cards accrued revenue and expense prepaids and depreciation. You will reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies. All financial statement tasks will lead to the compilation of key financial reports which will support leadership with making informed business decisions.
  • BUDGETING You will support the creation of the annual operating budget and financial models and accurately input data into our general ledger system. You will prepare budget versus actual reporting at both the consolidated and and team level including an analysis of spending by expense category.
  • AUDIT You will assist with the annual financial statement audit including preparing schedules gathering documentation and providing explanations when necessary. Additionally you will support any funding agency financial requests.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Key competencies to be successful in this role:

  • Strong experience with GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (including lookups pivot tables multifunction formulas etc.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Sage Intacct
  • Detailoriented; independently driven; able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the principles of DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion)
  • Lives out the CareerWise values and has a passion for the CareerWise mission and vision

Additional proficiencies:

  • Selfdirected and organized; prioritize tasks based on tight deadlines
  • Able to maintain knowledge of business literacy about CW and apply critical/analytical approaches to business decisions
  • Proven track record of executing work with quality and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the Google Suite
  • Collaborative; participates in team meetings; develops and leverages relationships within and across stakeholders to achieve results
  • Experience and comfort working in a fastpaced rapidly changing environment

Location:

As a preference this role is based in/near Denver Colorado. However remote applicants will be considered. There will be occasions (possibly 24 times per year) for staff to come to Denver for inperson meetings and/or training. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances.

Compensation:

The starting salary range for this role is: $54636 (min) $65563 (max) annually; this role is not covered by the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the FLSA.
