Job Description
Position Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations with our culinary team. This role is responsible for ensuring highquality food preparation compliance with health and safety regulations and exceptional service to patients staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise food service staff and cooks ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established procedures.
Oversee meal preparation portion control and food presentation to maintain quality standards.
Ensure compliance with health safety and sanitation regulations including HACCP guidelines.
Monitor inventory levels order supplies and manage food storage practices.
Assist with menu planning and dietary accommodations for patients with specific nutritional needs.
Train mentor and evaluate food service employees fostering a positive team environment.
Address customer concerns and ensure a high standard of service for patients staff and visitors.
Collaborate with dietitians and hospital staff to meet dietary and nutritional requirements.
Maintain accurate records of food usage waste and costs for budget control.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or hospitality degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in food service preferably in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of food safety regulations including ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in food service management software is a plus.
