St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational nonsectarian college preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul Minnesota serving Grades K5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 612 on our Randolph Campus. The school draws students from St. Paul Minneapolis and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

Status: One fulltime and one parttime nonexempt 10 months
Department: Instructional Support Lower School PreKindergarten Teaching Assistant
Salary Range: $19 $26/hour

Position Description:
Successful candidates will bring experience teaching Prekindergarten an understanding of child development and a deep love for the ages and stages of PreKindergarten students.
Candidates must be able to support young learners in all core subjects (literacy math and social studies) assist with lesson planning and foster a nurturing engaging classroom. Collaboration with teaching partners colleagues and families is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as is knowledge of best instructional practices in literacy math and social studies.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Responsive Classroom Primary/Singapore Math and/or Reggio Emilia.
Candidates must be committed to developing cultural competence in their teaching and working effectively in diverse environments. This includes differentiating instruction collaborating effectively with colleagues and families and demonstrating strong interpersonal and crosscultural communication skills to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Other Responsibilities Include:
Cleaning organizing and resetting curricular areas
Lesson planning support
Assist with:
Observations
Conferences
Work Sampling/Documentation
Supporting students with classroom needs including clothing changes hygiene etc.
Outdoor play and supervision
Additional requirements include:
Ability to lift 35 lbs sit on small chairs and/or floor
Occasional attendance at school events outside of school hours
Attend Professional Development as required
