The Lead Health Workforce Priority Initiatives is responsible for leading the daytoday delivery of one or more project/program/operational plans to help address identified health workforce challenges. As part of this role the Lead acts as a subject matter expert on a variety of health human resources areas and will take on complex work including developing plans and deliverables identification of initiatives undertaking and providing research deploying resources and collaborating with key internal and external partners. The Lead may act on the Managers behalf in their absence and may be responsible for daytoday work allocation but is not accountable for the work of the team members.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge on a breadth of HHR issues as well as experience overseeing multiple initiatives and leading structured projects from design through to completion. The incumbent will also play a critical role in supporting various HHR projects across the HWI portfolio often assisting the Manager in meeting urgent timelines on sensitive issues.
Here is what you will be doing:
Oversees project tasks and workflow for assigned health workforce initiatives and supports effective resource allocation.
Acts as a subject matter expert on multiple health human resources areas effectively able to support staff in responding to complex client/stakeholder inquiries.
Knowledge of relevant health human resources stakeholders regulators and associations to appropriately identify collaborative solutions.
Identifies and rapidly escalates urgent often politically sensitive issues to ensure appropriate responses.
Responds to and mitigates against project risks and identifies opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Assists the Manager with the development of work plans to ensure delivery of project milestones and meeting key performance indicators.
Demonstrates exceptional tactical and critical strategic thinking to keep projects effective and impactful when faced with changing circumstances such as program priority or funding changes.
Accountable for project deliverables including monitoring all projects to ensure successful delivery within the constraints of scope schedule cost and quality.
Maintains flexibility to help achieve project objectives in multiple areas through often urgent support and leadership.
Develops and presents material both internally and to external stakeholders on HHR programs using excellent written verbal and graphical communications skills with ability to express complex concepts effectively.
Collates feedback received from health professionals and employers and utilizes feedback to support service improvements.
Works closely with high level internal and external stakeholders to problem solve and negotiate to meet needs and demands.
Performs crossfunctional and/or other duties as assigned.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Completion of a bachelors degree; or equivalent education and experience.
5 years of overall work experience focused on operations in a fastpaced environment including at least 3 years leading complex projects/initiatives.
Experience with projects/initiatives aimed at IEHP integration is considered an asset.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is an asset.
Experience working in a health human resourcesrelated role including understanding of both health professional and healthcare organizational perspectives.
Knowledge and Skills
Subject matter expert on a range of health human resource issues.
Highly organized with an ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities within strict deadlines.
Proven track record working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders senior leaders and team members.
Proficient at proactively identifying risks and issues and developing tactics and solutions to maintain required project timelines.
Demonstrated analytical problemsolving and organizational skills in addition to the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proven ability to lead manage and motivate people with a variety of skill sets.
Professional standard of conduct poise diplomacy and integrity in all interactions to work confidentially and effectively with sensitive and complex issues.
Broad knowledge of the Ontario healthcare system and the various stakeholders and actors; understands the changing Healthcare environment with all its complexities.
Strong technical skills including the ability analyze and present program data.
Familiarity with customer relationship management databases (e.g. Salesforce) and strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook PowerPoint Excel and Word).
