We are seeking an exceptional Support Engineer III to join our Security Issues Management team. In this role you will:
Design build and maintain scalable security solutions that empower Amazons builders to maintain secure systems.
Develop and support tools used by all Amazonians to enhance our security posture.
Solve complex technical and business problems with ingenuity and simplicity.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to implement security best practices across Amazons environments.
Contribute to our mission of protecting customer trust by maintaining high security standards.

Key job responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for builders and security partners providing expert guidance and support in resolving issues related to our security tools.
Develop maintain and optimize teamrelated application security metrics and customerfacing documentation to ensure clear communication and continuous improvement.
Utilize scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash PowerShell) to automate processes create tools and enhance existing security solutions.
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues within teamowned infrastructure conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
Support and enhance a suite of internally developed analysis tools including writing and modifying scripts to improve functionality and efficiency.
Leverage SQL for data collection preparation and analysis to support security initiatives and inform decisionmaking processes.
Continuously improve and streamline support processes through scripting and automation increasing team efficiency and reducing response times.

Assist builders and development teams with information and reminders to efficiently address security issues in their domain
Drive efficiencies at scale through thoughtful but deliberate automation that raises the security bar and eliminates vulnerability classes.
Provide innovative solutions to maintain pace with emerging technologies.
Partner with other security teams engineers builders and security practitioners to improve security.

2 years of software development or 2 years of technical support experience
Experience scripting in modern programming languages
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
Knowledge of web services distributed systems and web application development
Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software RAID
Experience with REST web services XML JSON

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $67200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150300/year in our highest geographic market.
