Landauer Medical Physics is seeking a motivated teamoriented individual for a Health Physicist role. This position is based in California but we are also open to candidates located in Texas due to the travel requirements.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive health physics services including serving as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for various hospitals in the region.
The ideal candidate will be quick to learn an excellent communicator and a collaborative team player.
This role requires effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals on a daily basis.
This role offers a great opportunity for growth in the field of health physics while providing a direct impact on client safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Provide radiation safety consulting services. Including performing quarterly audits and attending radiation safety committee meetings.
Travel between client sites to provide onsite support and address any questions or concerns from customers.
Assist with regulatory compliance and coordination with radiation safety teams and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher in Health Physics or any equivalent from an accredited college or university. (Masters degree preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in health physics or a related field.
Eligible to serve as RSO must meet the necessary NRC and State requirements for being RSO. Previous experience as an RSO is highly preferred.
Strong familiarity with health physics activities such as leak testing instrumentation and personal dose review.
At least 2 years of experience use of radiation machines.
Travel Requirements:
Travel by car or plane to various client locations is required within California Arizona and Texas. Travel times from the home can vary to customer locations.
Some overnight stays will be necessary.
