As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) in the Last Mile Technology team you will be instrumental in helping us create innovative ways to take packages from our fulfillment centers and get them quickly and costeffectively to customers. The Last Mile Technology team supports multiple businesses globally creating the technology that supports deliveries for businesses such as Prime Now Amazon Flex Amazon Fresh Amazon Logistics Lockers and other current and new initiatives.

Our engineers are topnotch software developers who love listening to the customers working as a team and proactively taking the lead whenever necessary. In this role you will have an opportunity to own design and development for various services working closely with research science and other partner teams to apply optimization and machine learning techniques to solve realworld problems.

As a technical leader you will have influence over the long term strategic needs of the team the short term tactical wins and the tradeoffs between them. You will guide other team members to create robust scalable designs own development of critical path code and lead processes that improve quality and reduce operational load on the team. As a person with a high technical bar you will participate in people development and hiring ensuring were hiring the right type of people for the teams long term needs.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
