Sr Embedded Engineer - Flight Software Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide lowlatency highspeed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations.

As a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer you will engage with an experienced crossdisciplinary staff to conceive and design solutions. You must be responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

Export Control Requirement:

Key job responsibilities
* Work closely with hardware teams and operation teams to align on requirements
* Create software designs to satisfy requirements
* Develop embedded software in Rust C C or other modern languages for Linux and realtime operating system (RTOS) based systems
* Write device drivers and system applications for the various satellite systems.

About the team
Our team tackles many critical satellite functions including power management hardware interfaces command & telemetry and autonomous control.

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
