Job Description

Join Our Team as a Machinist II at Johnson Electric!

Location: Vandalia OH (onsite)

Your Mission Should You Choose to Accept It:As our next Machinist II youll be at the forefront of setting up and operating a variety of CNC and mechanical machining equipment producing quality close tolerance parts and striving to achieve one hundred percent measured productivity. Your expertise in machining will be crucial in driving our success and pushing the boundaries of whats possible.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Setting up and operating machinist equipment being wholly responsible for the documentation and quality of the part produced.
  • Setting up to completion and operating CNC and mechanical equipment assigned to you.
  • Interpreting Operations SetUp Hardcopy and Program to select speeds and feeds operational sequence tooling and checking fixtures for operations such as turning boring facing chamfering threading tapping etc.
  • Interpreting complex drawings to identify required dimensions.
  • Selecting predesignated jaws determining suitability for use and/or machining and boring to make them usable or to program replacement sets.
  • Calculating offsets when given an angle distance and formula along with any manual adjustments.
  • Performing all quality checks.

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in machining work.
  • Completed Shop Math II Machine Shop II and two CNC courses (e.g. adult vocational school community college or equivalent training).
  • Understanding of shop math decimals fractions etc.
  • Ability to read micrometers and calipers.
  • Basic knowledge of trigonometry and GD&T.
  • Basic knowledge of M and G codes.
  • Ability to stand for 810 hours per day.
  • Ability to perform all duties with minimal help.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.Work Environment:
  • Climatecontrolled environment.
