Job Description
Position Overview:
Design West Technologies Inc. of Tustin CA has an immediate need for a Welder II. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabrication equipment to produce high quality and quantity parts in an efficient manner with minimal supervision. Employees are expected to maintain a safe clean work area.
Key Job Duties:
Independently performs MIG/TIG welding and fabrication techniques as needed in accordance with blue prints and technical requirements. Mig Pulse welding a plus
Comprehensive knowledge of Aluminum fabrication techniques
Ability to review and rework / repair welds manually
Performs own visual and dimensional inspections using measuring instruments to maintain quality levels
Reads and adheres to blueprints work orders and production schedules
Produces parts in accordance to specifications and scheduling requirements
Ability to train and instruct other weld operators on processes ensuring conformance to requirements
Maintains production schedule by facilitating completion of tasks and movements of parts to other departments
Prepare metal surfaces or workpieces using hanrated equipment such as grinders cutters torches or drills
Transfer components or metal products using moving equipment
Keep machinery and work area clean and orderly
Notification of supervisor of material shortages
Willingness to cross train and perform the work of other job tasks when necessary

Experience/Skills Requirements:
NDT Liquid Penetrant Certification
SelfMotivated and can work in fastpaced environment.
Ability to understand and decipher different types of welds.
Ability to read and understand measuring tools and equipment such as a tape measure calipers and micrometer.
Ability to safely operate overhead hoists/forklifts.
Ability to pass manual and robotic weld tests.
Ability to work overtime as production demands require.
Knowledge of safe lifting and ergonomic work practice.
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to multi task a plus
Quick learner
Minimum of 5 years of welding experience
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 25 pounds or more alone.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more in team lift operations.
