Our supportive and progressive outstanding school in Newham is looking for a motivated Geography Teacher who is keen to develop their leadership skills within a thriving department and enhance the geographical learning experiences for our students. This role offers the exciting prospect of a TLR for the right candidate allowing you to contribute to the strategic direction of the Geography department and the schools wider understanding of global issues and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Geography lessons across Key Stages 34 (and potentially KS5.
- Encourage students to become confident and independent learners with a strong sense of place and global awareness.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and contribute to crosscurricular initiatives.
- Contribute to the planning and assessment of the Geography curriculum and enrichment activities including fieldwork and guest speakers.
- TLR opportunities are available for candidates with the skills and ambition to lead in areas such as curriculum innovation in Geography developing assessment strategies or leading and organizing geographical enrichment opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Geography or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching Geography at secondary level (ECTs encouraged to apply).
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for making Geography relevant and engaging.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to inspire and lead geographical inquiry and enrichment.
- Demonstrated interest and potential in taking on leadership responsibilities within the Geography department (for TLR consideration).
