Market Manager Spec Product
Location: Houston TX
Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Market Manager Spec Product to join our team!
The Market & Business Development Manager provides field support for our key market segments Higher Education Life Sciences Refining Chemical Environmental Energy Biotechnology Labs Food as well as driving commercialization of our new products and services. Position will be responsible for development of the segment strategy and the organizations products and services regionally through the following activities: customer engagement training market research analysis of market needs competitive trends creating promotional strategies and materials.
The Market & Business Development Manager will work closely with the national accounts and local sales organizations to train and assist in acquiring strategic accounts in these key segments. The Market & Business Development Manager will also work closely with the R&D organization to validate customer needs and opportunities commercialize new offerings currently under development and develop ideas for new products and services for the segment. The position requires independent discretion and judgment in management strategic alignment with departments regions and other business units within Praxair.
Successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of the selling process and experience in our key market segments and skilled in business development and commercializing new offerings.

What you will be doing:
Designs and implements marketing plans and new business initiatives for Praxair in each key market segment
Takes a key role in winning strategic accounts proposal development and implementation of successful new business
Provides sales and marketing support to PDIs regional sales teams
Provide training to general sales force and specialist
Develop regional plans and lead commercialization efforts for all new growth initiatives
Participates in design and implementation of integrated market offerings with other business units as appropriate
Interfaces with counterparts within business units to share marketing best practices
Will have responsibility for part of a budget
As a recognized expert within the organization researches and resolves issues relative to technical questions pricing proposals status market data and varied complex issues
Anticipates business challenges including analyzing locations that are underperforming with respect to market share and recommending competitive action plans for improvement
Interfaces and works with research and development
Reporting Relationships: This position will report to the Sales Director of Specialty Products. Position may have direct reports but often influences or leads others without having direct personnel management responsibilities.
What makes you great:
10 years of sales and marketing experience
Specialty Gas or Specialty Chemicals background preferred
Ability to operate with minimal supervision in a complex environment
Demonstrated experience working with large teams
Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree preferred
MBA preferred
