You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Education Director ensures AEAs educational offerings/programs are delivered to company standards in the Infant through schoolage classrooms including in our STEAM/Atelier classroom. He or she will supervise the teachers assigned to each classroom and together with the Director helps to select manage train and develop teachers for their program. This position also assumes Director duties in their absence and assists the Director with management duties. He or she will be responsible for opening and closing of the school at least 50 of the time and may be required to step into a classroom and take on the teacher role when needed to maintain childteacher ratios.
Responsibilities:
Accountability in all aspects of the operation
Works with director to ensure school compliance with all statemandated teacherchild ratios; state and municipal statutes and regulations relating to the operation of childcare Schools; state and federal wage and hour laws; and Company policies and procedures
Oversees and Maintain all training hours required by the state
Manages Human Resources and maintains teacher files by all regulatory agencies accreditation agencies and corporate guidelines
Responsible for daytoday operations of the educational program
Trains new staff members in a blended learning environment and classroom experience
Supervises staff members and quality control metrics of the program
Coaches employees to improve performanceDevelops career plans talent incubator and establishes annual goal setting to ensure continuous improvement during performance reviews
Promotes a culture of innovation empowerment and accountability through innovation awards
Manages school staff by planning work schedules to cover classrooms and maintain childteacher ratios
Develops inservice training programs for staff members based on their career plans
Coordinates monthly staff meetingsAuthorizes vacation and days off requests
Creates a newsletter for staff members with information about career promotions teaching strategies and suggestions updates teacher boards in the staff room
Maintains facility maintenance schedules and repairs per AEA company requirements or owner direction
Establishes and maintains a safe and healthy learning environment by a) adhering to all Company procedures related to injuries and accidents and b) verbally communicating to students and staff regarding potential hazards or injuries; c) and routinely performing safety auditsReports suspected child abuse or neglect to local child protective agencies or child abuse hotlines as required by law
Fosters a positive work environment by modeling appropriate and professional behavior
May work directly with children in classrooms as part of statemandated ratios
Monitors the cleanliness of the school.
Follows the guidelines of the AEA branding manual for social media postings
Enters visitors and tours in the AEA APPConducts and/or participates in engaging tours with prospective families; converts marketing strategies to higher student headcount by regularly corresponding verbally or via email with prospective families regarding curriculum cost and other questions
Contacts leads and visitorsParticipates in community events and professional associations
Builds relationship with the parents
Updates social media following AEA guidelines
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in communications and works with families and children
Demonstrates an awareness of community resources for additional support of children and families
Sends parents a monthly newsletter with information about the curriculum events and information
Meets with the parents to discuss situations and develop improvement plans
Develops parent education series to support parents
Understands financial performance of the school including tuition goals and payroll percentages
Posts weekly tuition charges
Responsible for collecting paymentsReconciles payroll hours / TimecardsConducts thoughtful analyses of operating statements school statistics personnel reports enrollment information and other data
Maintains accurate financial accounting of school operations and protects company assets and assumes full Profit and Loss accountability for the School
Qualifications:
Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for the Director position
Must meet all standards and requirements relating to background checks fingerprinting education and experience as set by the state and accreditation agent
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development or Curriculum or related field required
Must have at least two 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare school with at least one 1 year in a management or supervisory position
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in the English language
Must meet Company driving standards where applicable
Must be able to travel approximately 520 of the timeAbility to multitask respond to emails in a timely manner keep systems and AEA APP up to date
Ability to direct teach and encourage staff
Must demonstrate good people skills in order to work with staff and parents
Must show evidence of emotional intelligence and ability which demonstrate the skill to show good judgment in handling crisis situations
Must be able to move quickly bend stoop climb ladders and lift/carry up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis
Able to stand for long periods of time 95 of shift)
Able to occasionally work in temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and below 32 degrees Fahrenheit; walk on slippery or uneven surfaces; and climb ladders or work off elevated structures on an occasional basis during the work week
Able to tolerate high levels of noise
Able to tolerate moderate exposure to hazards and/or childhood illnesses
