What You Will Be Doing

The primary focus of the position is managing the business processes for the program by serving as a consultant identifying problem areas examining procedures and resolving conflicts for interstate and interagency functions pertaining to the Alaskas Unclaimed Property Act (AS 34.45. The incumbent establishes program goals directs functions and supervises the Unclaimed Property Manager in addition to providing leadership to team members.


This position reports on performance measures develops policy revisions for digital workflow is responsible for interfacing with electronic systems and oversees the new vendor for claim management. Furthermore the position proposes new or revised statutes monitors national trends coordinates and prepares responses for legislative committees and plans the outreach program.



Mission and Culture

The Treasury Division is the bank and trust department for the State of Alaska. It provides unclaimed property services to the public as well as cash management portfolio management debt management and accounting services for the various retirement funds the States General Fund the Constitutional Budget Reserve Fund and numerous other funds and trusts. In these uncertain times leading a program that will reunite owners with their unclaimed property more quickly and accurately is an exciting and rewarding service to Alaskans.

The Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is located on the 11th floor in the State office building in downtown Juneau and employees have access to the covered parking garage. The work provides interaction with a small closeknit team of professionals and occasional public contact with financial institutions property owners and claimants.

Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible professional experience developing planning coordinating and implementing a program project business organization or major components of a program including having administrative authority over the program/project funding staff and/or overall operations.
