This position functions as the recognized resource for juvenile justice specific child welfare training and compliance for State of Michigan operated secure juvenile justice facilities and is responsible for developing and monitoring new training operations including Michigan Juvenile Justice Assessments criminogenic risk interventions and Juvenile Justice Reform policy recommendations and implementation. The juvenile justice facilities must comply with all juvenile justice MDHHS state and federal policies as well as all licensing rules and policies while implementing essential programming for court ordered youth. It is essential that this position review develop and recommend trainings including standard operating procedures for juvenile justice facilities in order to ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements and ensure a safe environment for youth. In addition the analyst conducts indepth and ongoing review of state facility operations for compliance and recommends modifications of trainings and procedures to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness for youth. Conducts comprehensive review of juvenile justice facilities Child Welfare Licensing Reports and Corrective Action Plans with recommendations on implementation of new/modified trainings and procedures and serves as the juvenile justice liaison for Child Welfare Licensing as well as ongoing federal and state research analysis to inform program plans.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.

Experience
Departmental Analyst 12 Three years of professional experience including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11 level in state service.

Alternate Education and Experience

Departmental Analyst 9 12 Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of fulltime activeduty experience at or above the E6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
