Trumbull Corporation has immediate openings for Heavy Civil/Highway Construction Project Engineers with 3 5 years of experience to manage projects in the Western and Central Pennsylvania regions.

  • Sample projects include the Central Susquehanna Valley Transit bridge and thruway (Shamokin Dam PA) Scudder Falls Bridge (Pennsylvania and New Jersey) and Hawk Falls Bridge (Hawk Falls PA).

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide technical engineering information to company supervision and crafts to insure construction work complies with all Contract Specifications and Documents.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Interpret design/drawings for crafts constructing work.
  2. Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems conflicts interferences and errors.
  3. Prepare field design change requisitions and as built drawings as required.
  4. Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports punch lists describing work items to be done sketches of work already completed material requirement calculations etc. to supervisor.
  5. Verify all completed work complies with Contract Specifications and Documents.
  6. Attend meetings with other contractors client or Owners representatives to coordinate disciplines design and construction effort.
  7. Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work change orders estimates etc.
  8. Provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials or equipment.
  9. Cost code daily foreman time sheets purchase orders subcontractor invoices costs quantities actual expenditures etc. for input into cost control system.
  10. Calculate material/work quantity requirements (takeoffs); monitor progress and percentage complete per work item.
  11. Calculate/prepare various comparison reports charts and tables for project performance analysis.
  12. Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction.


SKILLS KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Educational and experience requirements include: Fouryear engineering degree plus three 3 to five 5 years of experience or combinations of technical training and related experience. Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques drawings & specifications building materials and required standards applicable to discipline. Ability to perform trigonometric calculation either manually or with calculator. Ability to assume responsibility interface and communicate effectively with others.
