Job Description

Salary Range: $19.00 $22.00/hour

Job Summary

The Office Coordinator Ward 8 Hub will oversee the front desk and reception area serving as the first point of contact for guests and community members. Responsibilities include greeting visitors answering calls managing supply inventory inputting client data into spreadsheets and Apricot providing navigation assistance and maintaining the office space.

Based in a shared office at the Washington Highlands location in Southeast DC 400 Atlantic Street SE DC) this role is integral to supporting a public housing community in need of vital resources and assistance. Essential functionsprimary responsibilities:

  • Greeting and welcoming all visitors clients and guests.
  • Interact with clients donors volunteers partners and other community members in

person and via telephone.

  • Direct calls and inquiries to staff as appropriate.
  • Checks voicemails to ensure timely response to clients.
  • Assist clients in completing intake documents.
  • Assist clients with community resources.
  • Assist clients with market bags clothing toiletries etc.
  • Oversee the center community members and participants in the space when other staff are conducting programs or appointments.
  • Manage supplies and inventory.
  • Ensure the lobby area and community room is clean and presentable for guests.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of activities and events.
  • Maintain and replenish intake book supplies.
  • Input all visitor data into spreadsheets and Apricot for reporting purposes.

Work environment

The Oce Coordinator Ward 8 Hub will work in a shared oce space in a public housing setting located in our Washington Highlands site located at 400 Atlantic Street SE.

Physical demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and talking on the phone.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer inputting data.
  • Prolonged periods of talking with clients and partners.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None


Travel required Local travel may be required to assist with off site events.

Required education and experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of experience in an oce setting.
  • One or more years of experience working in customer service.

Preferred education and experience

  • Experience working with individuals and families living in poverty.
  • Experience working in a community setting.

Required Trainings

The Office Coordinator may be required to participate in professional development training as determined by their supervisor.
