JOB SUMMARY
Plans coordinates and executes difficult specialized assignments within a type of facility or type of process for startup operations maintenance and testing. Apply specialized knowledge of startup methods to the solution of specific problems. Provides the resolution of technical questions arising in the area of specialty. Uses advanced startup engineering techniques and the modification and extension of theories precepts and practices of related sciences and disciplines. Receives operational supervision and technical assignments from the Manager of Startup or a Startup Engineering Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide technical advice and counsel on specific assignments. Develop and evaluate plans and criteria within a discipline or specialty for a variety of project activities. Interpret new or special regulations codes standards criteria and performance data relating to a specialty. Provide input and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed. Maintain uptodate knowledge within area of expertise regarding new concepts approaches and solutions to problems. Assist in project design reviews and project operations manual preparation. Prepare and give presentations to management and others as directed. Assist in the preparation of contract proposals. Provide technical guidance and onthejob training to subordinates and project personnel as assigned. Perform field consulting services as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Education: Bachelors degree in a technical discipline plus
Experience/Skills:
8 10 years practical work experience in startup operations maintenance or testing and basic knowledge of pertinent industry or regulatory standards. Some knowledge of construction or f ield engineering of engineering systems and applications of startup/test methods. Some knowledge of code mathematics or computers. Basic skill in communications. The above is normally acquired through a recognized degree in an engineering technical or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university a U. S. Military curriculum specialized courses in a technical field or 12 18 years of practical work experience in startup operations maintenance or testing or other relevant work experience in design engineering field engineering or construction to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. Personnel shall have technical knowledge of Commissioning/Startup Testing including experience working in the following technical areas/labor categories: Conduct of Startup Testing Design reviews Procedure development Test Demonstrated previous experience with the use and implementation of Manual 5E Startup Test Program and related directives and standards or an equivalent Commissioning/Startup program. Demonstrated previous experience in developing reviewing approval and presenting Technical Work Documents/Commissioning Test Procedures. Demonstrated personal accountability for facility/project schedules deadlines budgets and the safe performance of work. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. Demonstrated a minimum of 1 year of recent testing experience through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.

Commissioning/Startup testing qualification(s) Level II or III (per ASME NQA1 test program)
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain a uncleared security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s 8 hour/day; five days per week) 4/10s 10 hours/day; four days per week) and 9/80s 9 hours/day five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
