Brief Description of Duties
As a member of the University of the District of Columbias Office of Marketing and Communications the Senior Editor oversees the content development process for the Offices written and digital content and leads communication and editorial quality control that amplifies the reach of the Universitys messaging and strategic priorities. The incumbent proactively researches plans and develops highquality content including managing the workflows of external communication and design vendors and communication staff. The Senior Editor also serves as an editor and proofreader for Universitywide communications and ensures consistency while adhering to editorial and brand guidelines. The incumbent is accountable for learning understanding and consistently collaborating with internal and external clients to ensure all written communication products represent the University with excellence and accuracy. This role also supports recruitment and marketing efforts including developing content for marketing campaigns.

Residency Preference:A person applying for a position who is a bona fide District resident at the time of application for the position may be awarded a 10point residency preference over nonDistrict applicants unless the person declines the preference points. If selected the person shall be required to present no less than 8 proofs of bona fide District residency on or before the effective date of the appointment and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment. Failure to maintain bona fide District residency for the 7year period will result in forfeiture of employment.
