Your day to day as a Construction Specialist
The Seasonal Construction Specialist position at Ackerman Estvold is a dynamic fulltime temporary role that runs from April to November tailored for individuals eager to immerse themselves in the construction industry during the summer and fall months of construction season.
In this position you will undertake general inspection duties onsite providing essential support for construction projects of low to moderate complexity. Your responsibilities will include performing contract administration tasks coordinating with AckermanEstvold project teams contractors and regulatory agencies while ensuring compliance with relevant rules and project requirements through meticulous review of permit applications. Youll collaborate with Civil Engineers in the preparation and evaluation of construction plans specifications and cost estimates. As you follow established procedures youll apply your foundational knowledge of construction methods and inspection practices conducting inspections under the guidance of senior inspectors to uphold the highest standards of project quality and compliance.

To thrive as a Seasonal Construction Specialist at Ackerman Estvold candidates must possess a blend of physical and technical skills. The role requires frequent walking standing climbing stooping and bending so physical stamina and agility are crucial. Good eyesight hearing and speech are necessary for effective communication and compliance with safety regulations.
Regular driving of vehicles necessitates a valid drivers license. Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential when required to ensure safety onsite. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred with a preference for candidates who have at least 2 years of road construction experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Office Excel and Word is vital for documentation and reporting. Strong communication and collaboration skills will facilitate teamwork while effective problemsolving abilities will help navigate challenges that arise during construction projects.
