Job Description

Project Engineer (Mechanical) ARB Inc.

Summary

The Project Engineer (Mechanical) would start off by reporting to the Project Engineering Manager on the SoCalGas Honor Rancho Compressor Modernization Project in Santa Clarita CA but work in Houston TX. The project as conceived involves engineering procurement construction and commissioning of balance of the new existing Plant 1 and new Plant 2.

As a Project Engineer (Mechanical) you will facilitate and coordinate engineering activities with all stake holders including engineering subcontractor(s) owner owners engineer construction team subcontractors and other agencies having jurisdiction over the work. This role would also oversee the tasks of Field Engineers and Document Control staff.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the engineering representative with the engineering subcontractor customers constructors subcontractors and vendors at kickoff meetings project reviews and other project stakeholder engagements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders and ascertain that engineering deliverables to meet customer needs and contractual requirements.
  • Enable timely delivery of all engineering deliverables compliant with the contract documents.
  • Facilitate constructability and design efficiency discussions with the engineering subcontractor.
  • Take ownership of all project engineering related matters to meet project objectives and milestones.
  • Manage project schedules budgets and resources.
  • Manage document control system (including RFIs and Submittals) per the companys standards and train and supervise document control staff.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the project team.
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Manage and mentor field engineers in support of construction activities to achieve ontime completion.
  • Support change management with scope definitions and estimating.
  • Ensure all work products are consistent with industry codes and standards and in accordance with good engineering practice.
  • Perform quality control constructability evaluation risk assessment and troubleshooting during project .

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree mechanicalor similardiscipline from a fouryear college or university
  • At least 5 years related EPC experience and/or training specifically in power generation or renewables (prior Vapor Recovery System (VRS) experience is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of document control systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Bluebeam 3D Model Review Software (i.e. Navisworks).
  • Read and review proficiency in PrimaveraP6
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Passion for safety with the ability to support the team to ensure that nobody gets injured.
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment.

Compensation/Benefits

  • Salary Range would be $130$160K plus per diem (if eligible) commensurate with skills and experience
