Job Description

Adjunct Instructor Modern Art


The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking a PartTime Adjunct instructor for our History of Art & Visual Culture department to teach Modern Art in the Fall of 2025 semester.

Course details: Examines Modernism and its manifestations in the visual arts from about 1900 to 1970 through examination of the periods painting sculpture and the graphic arts. Consideration will also be given to the many new materials and forms of art developed during this period under the influence of artists like Marcel Duchamp movements like Surrealism and critics such as Clement Greenberg (Conceptual Art NonCollectible Art Installation). The relationship of art to new developments in society political theory science and modern philosophy and critical theory will also be examined. This course is inperson and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 am 9:15 am


Position: Adjunct Instructor parttime


Qualifications: A Masters degree in art or design history; previous teaching experience preferred.
