The Maintenance Technicians primary responsibility is to perform various skilled and semiskilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery buildings and equipment. Work involves primary responsibility for proficiency in several trades working independently (oncall if necessary) according to location and nature of assignments orally through written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams as directed by the Lead Maintenance Technician.

Minimum qualifications include:
High School diploma GED or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of methods materials tools and practices used in at least two of the buildings electrical or mechanical trades. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade involved. Be proficient in the care and use of tools and equipment used in all of trades involved. Have the ability to interpret and work from sketches and diagrams. Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff effectively.
