Job Description

Accounting Supervisor

ERTH Corporation is the holding company to a number of specialized companies with expertise in providing safe and reliable energy distribution sustainable energy solutions field services (powerline construction/traffic/street lighting) and back office technology solutions and consulting.

ERTH enthusiastically moves to push the industry ahead during a time of change and development in the global energy market. ERTH is located in Ingersoll Ontario and is looking for an individual with proven experience to join our finance team as an Accounting Supervisor. Reporting to the Corporate Controller the Accounting Supervisor takes a handson approach to overseeing the daytoday accounting activities supervising two accounting clerks and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. They work closely with management providing financial reports budget preparation and forecasts. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills who thrives in a fastpaced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Accounting Supervisor include:

  • Manage the GL overseeing financial transactions including journal entries intercompany charges and reconciliations.
  • Communicate effectively with management and department heads.
  • Support and Collaborate with various business units to prepare the annual budgets and assist in preparing financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate prepare and submit monthly quarterly and annual financial reports including variance analysis.
  • Lead monthend quarterend and yearend financial closing activities ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Ensure timely submission of government remittances.
  • Assist with external auditors as required ensuring they have the necessary information and documentation to complete their audits efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with management to provide financial guidance to executives operational teams and corporate leadership.

Qualified applicants who meet the following criteria will be considered:

  • University degree in accounting finance or a related discipline.
  • CPA (CA CGA CMA) designation required.
  • Minimum 5 years in financial analysis planning and managementlevel experience in financial reporting and cost accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
  • Handson experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and ERP conversions is an asset.
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an asset.
  • Strong analytical thinking problemsolving and leadership abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with financial and nonfinancial stakeholders.
