Job Description
Torch Technologies a 100 employeeowned company dedicated to providing superior research development and engineering services is seeking an intermediatelevel engineer for a Data Analyst position. This role focuses on developing and analyzing advanced algorithms performing data reduction and interpreting data from realtime optical sensor platforms. The ideal candidate will be selfmotivated detailoriented and capable of both independent and collaborative work. The position includes handson opportunities with land sea and airbased sensors in both lab and field test environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop troubleshoot and analyze software programs for computerbased systems.
- Perform systems modeling simulation and data analysis to improve system performance.
- Develop and test advanced algorithms for sensor data processing.
- Conduct statistical analysis and interpret complex datasets using quantitative methods.
- Research and develop new analysis techniques to improve quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional engineering and research teams.
- Advise hardware engineers on machine characteristics that influence software systems such as processing speed memory and I/O constraints.
- Provide input for documentation of new or existing software and analytical tools.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering Physics or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant software design and data analysis experience.
- Proficiency in MATLAB Java C and Python.
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles algorithm development and data modeling.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a final security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Physics Engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in algorithm development and/or data analysis.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Multiobject detection association state estimation and tracking.
- Multicamera geometry and image calibration.
- Data fusion filtering and sensor data integration.
- Deep understanding of probability statistics and machine learning concepts.
- Familiarity with compiler development operating systems and lowlevel programming is a plus.
