DescriptionThe Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers improving quality performance via Quality Plan implementation. The successful candidate will provide technical liaison with suppliers and product engineering as necessary. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will report directly to the Quality Director and will interact with various levels within the organization as well as with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics; monitor and report supplier quality performance.
- Work with suppliers to continuously improve performance implement process controls and develop quality assurance plans.
- Conduct audits of new and existing suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead problem solving and root cause analysis for supplier related concerns.
- Coordinate with product engineering and purchasing teams to resolve supplier quality issues.
- Develop and implement supplier management programs including supplier scorecards and development plans.
- Evaluate potential new suppliers in conjunction with materials sourcing teams.
- Participate in the development and implementation of supplier contracts or negotiation of remedial actions when required.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and certifications statistical analysis process improvement tools.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and suppliers.
- Proficient in problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed.
- Proven ability to meet commitments and deliverables.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry preferably defense or aerospace.
- Proven track record of improving supplier quality performance and establishing strong supplier partnerships.
- This role requires U.S. citizenship in adherence to ITAR DFARS and federal compliance standards.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality management in a manufacturing environment.
