The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Principal Program Manager will oversee complex projects with critical safety impact. This role requires coordinating change management processes driving and communicating to senior management on status risks and process/product changes. Crossteam coordination project management and executive presentation skills are essential.
Key job responsibilities
Manage full lifecycle of complex crossfunctional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations
Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment seeking to understand business problems automation limitations scaling factors and boundary conditions
Partner with teams globally to source allocate and coordinate resources
Partner with customers internal/external teams and engineering teams to assess risk and determine what projects require additional risk mitigation and in what priority order
Identify and resolve gaps between teams processes and systems helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g. requirements not sufficiently understood or documented ineffective crossteam collaboration longterm impact(s) from thirdparty solutions security not considered insufficient stakeholder review etc.
Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
Work with program managers business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
Develop implement and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs providing visibility to the milestones and performance across all projects

7 years of working cross functionally with tech and nontech teams experience
7 years of program or project management experience
7 years of managing analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
Bachelors degree
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Experience delivering projects within scope time budget and quality
Candidates with 5 years experience in fleet management and road safety programs
Experience in ISO45001 (OHSAS18001 ISO14001 or ISO9001 certification. CSP CRSP CIH NEBOSH or CHMM certified.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
