Description

Mayo Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our worldclass Hematology and Oncology team. This role will primarily support the Bone Marrow Transplant and Acute Leukemia disease group within our outpatient practice.


As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive evidencebased care to patients across all stages of their treatment journey including curative and palliativeintent therapies. This includes managing patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation and CAR Tcell therapy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments including history and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Monitor and evaluate therapeutic interventions for effectiveness.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families to support informed decisionmaking and adherence to treatment.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with Florida state laws and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate across specialties and refer to appropriate services as needed.
  • Perform procedures including bone marrow biopsies and administration of intrathecal chemotherapy via Ommaya reservoir.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development.
  • Engage in institutional research and educational activities.
  • Attend and contribute to disease group discussions and multidisciplinary meetings.

The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.



Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner:Mastersprepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP ANP or ACNP.

Physician Assistant:Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Active BLS ACLS RN First Assist certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
  • Previous hematology/oncology or transplant experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
