PO3 PO5: Starting annual salary 46437 pa rising in annual increments to 55710 pa plus up to 10000 pa market supplement (dependent upon experience)
In addition to the salary we offer legally qualified new starters a 5000 welcome bonus which is payable 50 after 6 months and 50 after 12 months in the role.

About the Team:
Anexciting opportunity has arisen in the Councilslegal department for a Planning Lawyerto join our team.
We are looking for a qualified Solicitor Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (or equivalent relevant qualification) ideally from within the public sector.
This is a varied role and the successful candidate will be expected to juggle a busy and challenging will be highly organised proactive flexible able to work under pressure manage competing deadlines and work as part of a teamand on their own initiative.
You will be responsible for planning & environmental related legal advice conducting litigation (Civil and Criminal) and assisting the Senior Lawyer in ensuring that the Council receives costeffective highquality advice and representation.
You will be familiar with planning and highways agreements planning enforcement planning litigation and the Councils planning applications committee process.
You will be experienced in drafting legal documents andlegal correspondence giving specialist legal advice gathering and analysing information to support actionsfiling documents at court and dealing with the administration associated with litigation.
You will be competent at legal research and comfortable dealing directly with clients and external stakeholders including solicitors barristers and court personnel.
