Join the power movement as a Senior Structural Mechanical Engineer
As a Senior Structural Mechanical Engineer for CFS you will serve as an expert in structural mechanics for various projects across the company including SPARC ARC and other R&D activities.
What youll do:
Serve as a domain expert in structural mechanics
Solve complex problems and provide recommendations by providing technical leadership and collaborating with stakeholders across CFS
Mentor junior staff within the Structural Engineering Department and other mechanical engineers that conduct structural analysis
Assist Structural Engineering Department management in development implementation and adoption of best practices workflows and overall strategy
Conduct and review structural analysis for various system designs at CFS
What were looking for:
At least a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
At least 7 years of professional experience performing finite element analysis with multidisciplinary teams in a product development environment
Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of computational structural mechanics including nonlinear materials plasticity fatigue solver convergence and contacts
High selfmotivation and personal accountability in decisionmaking and team supervision.
Strong leadership acumen adept at embracing challenges with minimal oversight.
Excellent problemsolving and creative capabilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
Bonus points for:
Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and SpaceClaim
Experience with electromagnetic and thermal FEA
Ability to code in Python and APDL
Experience pre and postprocessing of large computational models in a product development environment.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g. ASME BPVC) related to structural design and analysis of large structures
Musthave Requirements:
Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/oncall occasionally
Perform activities such as typing standing or sitting for extended periods of time
Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat cold noise fumes strong magnets lead (Pb) high voltage high current pressure systems and cryogenics
