Senior Cost Accountant / Manufacturing Financial Analyst

The Cost Accountant/Manufacturing Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the financial planning and analysis functions within the manufacturing operations. This position involves analyzing financial data preparing annual budgets quarterly forecasts and providing insights to support decisionmaking. The Manufacturing Financial Analyst collaborates cross functionally to ensure effective cost management and financial performance within the manufacturing operations. Additionally the Analyst will be responsible for Standard Costing for the inputs and outputs of this and associated operations.
Duties/Responsibilities
Develop budgets by cost driver track cost against that budget analyze variances and prepare monthly progress reports and updated forecasts of project EAC.
Create monthly operational and management reporting package in Excel to analyze and understand financial results both against budget and against rolling forecasts.
Create and subsequently monitor standard costs by product line.
Analyze manufacturing variances such as purchase price variance and work order variance
Assist in month and year end closing activities.
Help lead the annual physical inventory counts.
Develop standard labor and overhead absorption rates (fixed semivariable and variable) for the following operations: Laser cutting Metal Forming Powder Painting SubAssembly Final Assembly.
Perform make vs buy analysis to include all variables including administrative costs up to point of use.
Appropriately account for fixed assets ensuring that what can be capitalized is and is assigned the appropriate useful lives and salvage values.
Working with Engineering and Induction ensure that the items planned for production in this factory are fully and properly loaded into NetSuite such that the standard cost of each item is appropriate.
Monitor the results of inventory cycle counts
Be the goto resource for all accounting cost accounting and financial analysis issues for manufacturing.
Be a business partner with the manufacturing and sourcing teams.
Required Skills/ Abilities
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Competency deploying manufacturing cost accounting principles.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Passion to meet your internal customers needs and excel at doing so.
Creative problemsolving and continuous improvement
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business or a related field.
Proven experience as a Financial Analyst preferably in a manufacturing environment.
