Caterpillars Remanufacturing Division is looking for a Material Planning Analyst for our Franklin Indiana facility.This position will provide schedule plan and oversee material procurement production and delivery processes.

Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in scheduling production and delivery processes in accordance with current productivity and cost efficiency standards.
  • Coordinate the release of materials and monitor material inventory in the plant warehouse and by critical suppliers.
  • Plan schedule coordinate and monitor the flow of products through the complete production cycle.
  • Provide timely planning and scheduling of production of orders to manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.
  • Review production specifications and identify and report plant capacity constraints.
  • Develop effective scheduling processes to achieve production objectives.
  • Coordinate with production to develop and maintain scheduling parameters.
  • Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Maintain adequate levels of stocked and controlled components to meet anticipated production demand adjusting order review points to minimize shortages or overages.
  • Maintain and update the item master database to ensure accuracy and completeness of item information.
  • Ensure that all item attributes such as descriptions units of measure and classifications are correctly entered and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure that item master data aligns with business requirements and standards.
  • Perform regular audits of item master data to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain processes for adding new items and retiring obsolete items in the system.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to the material planning process.

Degree Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired

Highly desired

  • ASCM CSCP CPIM or similar certification
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting and familiarity with demand planning software and tools such as QAD/Mfg Pro.
  • Background in Supply Chain Management Accounting Procurement or similar discipline.

  • Strong observational skills and attention to intricate details.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Ensures capture of lessons to be learned from a problemsolving effort.
  • Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts.
  • Uses varying problemsolving approaches and techniques as appropriate.
  • Contributes to standard practices for problemsolving approaches tools and processes.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients vendors and peers.

  • Alerts own team to problems in client satisfaction.
  • Differentiates the roles and responsibilities in a business relationship.

Internal Resource Coordination: Knowledge of the techniques tools and applications associated with coordination of internal resources; ability to synchronize and integrate activities responsibilities and command and control structures to ensure that internal resources are used most efficiently in pursuit of business objectives.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Resolves issues related to collaborative efforts in varying business conditions.
  • Designs a comprehensive tool set to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of business information.
  • Optimizes existing collaborative styles using advanced coordination skills.
  • Advises on organizational best practices for internal resource coordination.
  • Monitors overall coordination programs and business activities for compliance with relevant policies.
  • Trains others on coordination techniques according to a particular business requirement.

Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Knowledge of the processes practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Monitors total plant production scheduling via orders.
  • Evaluates considerations for synchronizing demand for products with production capabilities.
  • Participates in sequencing work to meet targeted delivery dates for multiple and critical orders.
  • Participates in setting parameters for reorders min/max levels lead days and job days.
  • Coordinates capacity and materials planning for net demand within a planning period.
  • Adjusts plans based on sales forecasts custom orders and demanddriven orders.

Summary Pay Range:

$79800.00 $119760.00
