Are you looking to expand your RN experience in the oncology field Dayton Physicians Network is looking to add an RN Infusion to our Englewood location! The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by following established standards and practices. The RN functions as the primary liaison between patients staff and physicians as well as assisting the physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm eight hour shifts No evenings weekends or holidays! Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Provides direct patient care through patient assessment treatment administration access device management side effects and symptom management and monitoring response to treatment regimens;
- Educates patient and family members regarding diagnostic procedures medications side effects and symptom management;
- Maintains and reviews patient records charts and other pertinent information;
- Serves as a conduit for education follow up and reinforcement between the physicians and nurse clinician;
- Organizes/maintains exam rooms/treatment suite inventory supplies and materials;
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and practices;
- Performs all required documentation
- Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values;
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties may include: - Performs aseptic admixture of chemotherapeutic and other medication agents for treatment administration;
- Utilizes and evaluates acuity data as needed;
- Assists in cost effective management of treatment administration;
- Utilizes current research findings to support and improve nursing practice and patient care;
- Supports and/or participates in research protocols;
- Initiates new ideas and projects that enhance patient care
Required Education and/ or Experience: - This position requires an active RN License for the state(s) of practice.
- Bachelors degree (B.S.N. from a fouryear college or university preferred; Associate degree or diploma acceptable.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems a plus.
- Oncology certification to be obtained within 2 years of start of employment. Must maintain certification throughout duration of employment.
- Must obtain chemotherapy/biotherapy administration certification within 6 months of obtaining employment.
- Must maintain chemotherapy/biotherapy administration certification throughout duration of employment.
