Staff Nurse - Plastic Surgery Clinic

Registered Nurses in the Plastic Surgery Clinic work alongside providers to assist with delivery of education and treatment for numerous diagnoses including but not limited to Cleft Lip Cleft Palate Craniofacial Anomalies Trauma Fractures Nevi Scars Cysts and Keloids. The RN in Plastic Surgery Clinic will become competent in providing familycentered care through phone triage clinical care and cross training to our 3 different locations. The Plastic Surgery RN provides illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require hospital care. The Plastic Surgery nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe high quality comprehensive and ageappropriate nursing care for patients. The RN will provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs along with coordinating patient care with nonclinical personnel as necessary. Responsibilities of the Plastic Surgery RN include thorough clinic preparation involving the collection and acquisition of the following pertinent clinical records: labs/pathology operative reports and radiology reports/imaging. Clinic nursing staff will participate in performance improvement initiatives for the department and coordinate care individualized for our specific patient population.

• Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge enhance role performance and improve nursing care quality.

• Associates Degree current employees hired before September 1 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.

• Bachelors Degree Preferred for all direct care nurses hired after September 1 2013. Direct care nurses hired after this date without a BSN must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.

• One of the following: Licensed RN Kansas Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
• One of the following: Licensed RN MO Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Employees must obtain multistate licensed RN KS or MO within 90 days

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $30.50/hr but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

This position is not eligible to work remotely which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Childrens Mercy locations and may not work from home.
