Working as part of the integrated IMRDS Capital Delivery Team for Main Laying working with the Design Lead Enabling Manager and Senior Operations Manager and reporting to the Engineering Manager you will oversee the Team of Engineers working with construction and delivery of main laying schemes predominantly focusing on Trenchless and no dig techniques including insitu structural liners championing innovative solutions to reduce scope of works to maximise benefit and capitalisation across the AWS region safely to budget and within agreed timescales. The designs will deliver cost and benefit efficiencies and facilitate the drive towards achievement of the AMP8 main Laying & efficiency targets whilst adding value to the supply and network asset base.
You will play a key role in the management and development of team along with the assimilation and transfer of information between the teams and engagement of key stakeholders developing and promoting schemes through IMR governance for example Asset Health Leakage Network Delivery teams Asset Delivery Planning. You will use your extensive knowledge of network engineering design balanced with commercial awareness to conduct all sitebased investigations required to promote the optimum design solutions for a portfolio of schemes. You will ensure through effective communication with your team Network Partners and internal stakeholders that opportunities to maximise on benefits across delivery routes are identified.
From the outset you will assume responsibility for your team of Engineers and accountability for delivery within their Pods for each scheme from design through to delivery by tracking solution delivery ensuring delivery is safe to time and budget and that high standards of water quality quality of work sustainability and cost control demanded by Anglian Water are maintained. You will work alongside Operations teams Network Partners and AW water services (networks and supply) teams and feed any learning or improvement opportunities back into the design process.

Preferably graduate and/or BTEC Higher Technical qualification or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
Project Management Qualification desirable
Experience of identifying developing and managing new business opportunities
SMSTS Qualifiedand NRSWA supervisor trained
Experience of contract management and site supervision
Significant experience working on water engineering or similar engineering design projects
Experience with water distribution systems
Ability to shape the future company strategy
Thorough understanding of the regulatory framework
Experience of water supply and network operations
Significant commercial awareness
Proven ability to understand the infrastructure from a strategic tactical and operational perspective
Balancing solution requirements with service delivery capabilities
Good understanding and experience of the ROV process particularly Root Cause Analysis
