Who you are

Youre an experienced Social Media Coordinator and Content Creator with a passion for local journalism and storytelling looking to make an impact across multiple brands while being part of a supportive and collaborative team. You have handson experience creating engaging content growing online communities and analyzing performance to optimize social media growth on Instagram TikTok YouTube and other social media platforms.

You are a strong copywriter with experience crafting social captions and editing existing copy. You are selfmotivated with a strong sense of initiative and possess the ability to work independently. You have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple brands/accounts simultaneously without compromising quality and are a team player with a collaborative mindset adaptable in a fastchanging environment and youre detailoriented with a knack for understanding brand identity and tone.

Additionally youre comfortable working with a range of citycentric news lifestyle and culture content that may include news housing and real estate events food and restaurants nightlife shopping local travel and outdoors and the history of a city.

What youll do

• Create and post social media content daily according to established targets and guidelines.
• Work with applicable team members to ensure content on various accounts and social platforms is distributed according to the agreed strategy and tactics.
• Enforce brand standards and guidelines and adherence to templates and best practices to ensure consistency.
• Create engaging and relevant content for diverse audiences across various platforms including text graphics videos and stories.
• Plan and schedule social media posts across platforms using scheduling tools to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.
• Monitor and respond to comments messages and mentions across all social media platforms in a timely and professional manner fostering community engagement and positive brand sentiment.
• Assist with quality assurance of individual content pieces including editing copy and graphics.
• Working with various teams to facilitate and execute video distribution across multiple social media platforms.

What you have

• 3 years of experience in social media management across multiple platforms (Instagram Facebook TikTok X YouTube LinkedIn etc..
• A keeneye for compelling and impactful visual content including photography and video and the ability to effectively and concisely tell a story on social media through words and images.
• Strong content creation skills including graphics and copywriting.
• Deep experience working with content and distribution and community engagement on Instagram and TikTok. Additional experience with platforms such as YouTube X Facebook and Snap is an asset.
• Proficiency with social media management tools and Adobe applications such as Photoshop Later Iconosquare Meta Business Suite etc.
• Familiarity with analytics tools (Meta/Instagram Insights TikTok Analytics etc. to track and measure performance.
• Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbalwith a strong attention to detail. Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment with quick turnarounds and deadlines.
• An ability to work weekends and evenings totalling 40hours per week.
• Familiarity with the Google Suite Capcut and Adobe suite is also an asset.
• Familiarity with storytelling on social media platforms as well as graphic design skills are an asset.
