Job Description
- To diagnose problems and repair diesel engines and ancillary equipment
- To apply troubleshooting methods replace parts and run tests to ensure the systems is working properly following up to repairs
QUALIFICATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The following trade tested qualifications will be considered
- Mechanical Fitter / Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate
- Must have large diesel engine overhaul experience
- Ability and acumen to work independently
- Strong mechanical background
- A strong knowledge and strong commitment to Health and Safety processes
- Sound communication skills
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- A team player and ability to maintain a positive attitude within the team
- A cando attitude
- Be proactive and flexible willing to work long hours
- Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels
- Sober habits and punctual
- Clear criminal record
