Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for all the duties of a Mortgage Banker in addition to increasing current sales volume of the Mortgage Bankers recruiting new Mortgage Bankers and meeting or exceeding sales goals as set forth by Peoples Bank management while maintaining the gain on sale yield as set by Peoples Bank Management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Increase originations of existing mortgage bankers through innovative sales techniques and tools

  • Keep mortgage bankers compliant with all current regulations

  • Develop products and services to keep up with the current mortgage markets

  • Recruit and train experienced productive mortgage bankers in our current market footprint
  • Develop and execute a training program for entry level mortgage bankers

  • Become proficient with our loan origination platform. Stay current on all of the systems enhancements and updates. Relay all the pertinent information to management and the mortgage bankers

  • Keep all the mortgage bankers compliant and stay current with all compliance changes in the mortgage industry.

  • Work with other Peoples Bank managers to increase cross sales

  • Maintain and update as necessary a written mortgage loan procedure and product guide.

  • Resolve customer complaints prior to them being escalated to Chief Retail Lending Officer

  • Maintain community involvement.

  • Assist the Chief Retail Lending Officer in performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in business related field preferred

  • 5 years of Mortgage Lending experience preferred with a minimum of two years mortgage lending experience required

  • Minimum 2 years experience with ICE Encompass loan origination system preferred. Knowledge of Bank software: Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook and Encompass extremely helpful

  • Prior supervisory experience desirable with ability to grow train and manage a productive sales force

  • Professional oral and written communication skills and can effectively communicate with Bank personnel customers prospects and third parties. Demonstrated ability to handle inquiries and counsel customers.

  • Performs as a team player with strong interpersonal skills who can interact effectively with staff and management across all departments.

  • Ability to work with financial information analyze data and use prudent judgment when making decisions.
