You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJOB DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager the Electrician/Electronic Technician is responsible for the safe operation of control instrumentation electrical systems and programming the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in the Processing and Waste Treatment plants.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Program the PLCs in the Processing and Waste Treatment plants Undertakes a regular inspection and preventative maintenance of the electrical systems Perform and oversee planned and emergency repairs to these systems Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for PLC and motor control systems Troubleshoot problems with PLC control and instrumentation equipment Oversee the work of other technicians working on the electrical control systems Assist and train other technicians/electricians in the performance of their duties Operate tools and equipment as required Maintain required reports Perform any other duties assigned as may be required May be required to work a rotating shift schedule for production coverage In the absence of the Maintenance Manager supervise and oversee maintenance personnel as required Follows all housekeeping policies according to good manufacturing practices
QUALIFICATIONS Diploma or certificate in Electronic Control and Instrumentation from community college or trade school (or equivalent combination of education and training) Mechanical aptitude Good writing communication and math skills Ability to analyze troubleshoot and correct situations Computer literacy required and familiarity with PC based Windows operating systems Experience with programming and troubleshooting of PLCs Experience with preventive maintenance programs and applications Read and interpret schematics and blueprints Minimum Grade 12 education
