What Youll Do:
- Empower team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.
- Develop a rapport with clients and resolve their needs and wishes.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Has mastered medical skills and perform basic surgery.
- Explain physical examination findings and communicate a diagnosis of the pets condition; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client.
- Educate clients on preventative health care including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in followup and future management of the patient.
- Staying current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine attend continuing education meetings.
- Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care.
- Positively represents the clinic in the professional community and to the public.
- Support Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants with escalations as needed.
- Participation in selfdevelopment courses and Chewy Vet Care required compliance training.
- Perform related duties and assignments by management.
- Oversee operating safety and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care processes and policies.
- Position may require some travel.
What Youll Need:
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM VMD) or equivalent is required
- Active State license in good standing DEA license and other state credentials as required
- 0 2 years experience in general medicine and surgery
- 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines preferred
- Multitask with a high degree of integrity and accountability.
- Outstanding listening and problemsolving skills strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a teamoriented environment.
- Is passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus.
- Ability to multitask and perform well in a face paced selfstarter environment.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Standing or walking up to 80 per shift.
- Frequently lift up 50 to 70pounds using an optional team lift.
- Occasionally lift greater than 70 pounds using a team lift.
- Stand push pull carry squat and kneel.
